Through Our Eyes gives cameras to people from all walks of life, helping them capture moments that matter. We believe every story deserves to be seen and every voice deserves to be heard. Our focus on storytelling respects the dignity of each participant, allowing communities to connect through empathy, understanding, and shared experience.

Who Participates
Our photographers come from diverse communities. They have been people experiencing homelessness, students, neighbors, refugees, former inmates and more.
How We Collect Stories and Photos
We distribute disposable cameras to photographers and give them a few days to tell their stories and capture moments that matter to them.
How We Share Stories
A panel of community members curates photos, and Through Our Eyes coordinates displays in exhibitions, online galleries and publications.

Meet the Founder
Our team brings experience, compassion, and creativity to every project.
Jason Williamson – Founder
Inspired by seeing the world through others’ eyes, Jason leads the project and connects communities through photography. Jason concentrated on photography at Winthrop University and has been capturing the world around him for nearly 30 years. Jason loves street photography and bringing light to hidden scenes that most people would probably just walk past without a second thought.
