Frequently Asked Questions.

We typically buy them from a wholesaler, but our friends at Fujifilm have graciously donated some as well.

No, not all projects have focused on those who have experienced homelessness. That is the root of the Through Our Eyes Project, but we have branched out to other people groups as well. We want to provide a platform for all kinds of people to have a voice. Our photographers have been from the homeless community, 4th graders at an elementary school and neighbors who have never met. We have plans on taking the project internationally in the future as well.

We have a donate button on our site. Every contribution helps. $10 covers the cost of a single-use camera and it’s processing. $200 covers the cost of printing our top photos for a gallery show. $600 covers the cost of framing. $3500 covers most of the cost of a project from beginning to end. Thanks so much for wanting to help us. Click here.

Yes, we are a 501(c)(3). Any contributions made to the project are tax deductible.

Absolutely. We were inspired by a similar project and we hope you have been inspired by this one. If you are interested in doing a project like Through Our Eyes, we certainly hope you will. Make it your own. Be creative. Love people.

If you are interested in doing a Through Our Eyes project with our branding, structure, social media, etc., we would love to talk to you more about it. We are passionate about connecting people and caring for people who need hope & encouragement, have stories to tell or a message to share. Email us to continue the discussion.

When we have a projects with photographers who have experienced homelessness, we provide care bags with hygiene products, snacks, clothes and gift cards. We can always use help with donations to pack these bags. The photographers are not compensated. Our main goal is to encourage the photographers and allow their voice to be heard. During many of our projects, the public can vote on their favorite photos and the top photographers may receive items as a prize that help them personally. Sometimes our photographers have wanted us to provide them with work boots, mattresses, radios, dog food or car detailing supplies so they can generate income. We do not hand out cash.
